A private IP address, 192.168.1.1, is used to login a router’s admin interface. The default gateway address, 192.168.l.l, is pre-specified by router manufacturers and can be used to modify various router configurations.
How to Login to 192.168.1.1?
To log in to 192.168.1.1, take the following actions.
- Go to http://192.168.1.1 in a web browser or enter 192.168.1.1 into the URL bar of the browser.
- You will see a login window where you must enter your password and username.
- In the designated fields, type the password and username.
- At this point, the router’s Admin Panel will be accessible to you.
Note: If you are unable to log into the router admin panel at 192.168.1.1, try logging in with 192.168.0.1 or 10.0.0.1, which are alternative IP addresses.
Forgot IP Address Username and Password?
The IP address, username, and password can be found here if you can’t remember them or they don’t work.
- Examine the router’s back or the manual or box. (Or look up a list of default usernames and passwords).
- You must do a factory reset if you changed the password and now you can’t remember it. To accomplish that, search the rear of your router for a tiny, hidden RESET button. Press and hold the button with a paper clip or a needle for ten to fifteen seconds. The router will reset to factory settings after rebooting itself.
How to Change Route IP Address?
Your internet service provider assigns the default gateway IP address by default, but users can customize it to suit their needs. It is frequently altered to prevent DDoS assaults, keep hackers from accessing your admin panel, or just to provide a higher level of security. This is the method for doing it.

- Go to Advanced settings > Network > LAN.
- Under “IP Address” field you may change it to your desired address such as 192.168.1.2.
4. Save it and the router will reboot to apply the changes.
D Link:

- Go to Setup > Network Settings.

4. Change it as preferred and Save Settings.
NETGEAR:
- Login to NetGear router settings page via 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 or you can access via http://www.routerlogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.com.
- By default, the username is admin and password is password.
- Once logged in navigate to Advanced > from left side menu go to “Setup” > LAN Setup.
- Under LAN TCP/IP Setup, you will see IP Address. Change 10.10.10.1 as preferred.
5. Apply Changes and the system will reboot to update settings.
If something goes wrong during the procedure, you can reset your router to its original settings and have all customizations reversed.
In order to stop unwanted access, it’s critical to protect your WiFi network. Adhere to simple guidelines like turning on WPA2 encryption, creating a strong password, disabling WPS (which is an outdated way of network synchronization), turning on MAC-address filtering, and periodically updating the firmware on your router. This is a comprehensive tutorial to WiFi network security.
